Previously I posted Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom, in my opinion just about the best animated short ever produced by the Disney studios.
Too bad no one is willing or capable of producing quality 2D animation any more.
The “Rhapsody In Blue” sequence from Fantasia 2000. Music by George Gershwin; the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bruce Broughton; piano soloist Ralph Grierson.
Written and directed by Eric Goldberg; artistic consultant Al Hirschfield. Art director Susan McKinsey Goldberg, layouts supervised by Rasoul Azadani, backgrounds supervised by Natalie Franscioni-Karp, visual effects supervised by Mauro Maressa.
Eric had originally planned to produce the short himself, but used the Disney staff to complete it when the feature that eventually became The Emperor’s New Groove was temporarily shut down.

That was cool. Ari and I enjoyed watching it.
Like I said … 2D lives!
Yeah, but how much better would it be with a jive-talking donkey?
Wrong there’s alot of us that can and r more of capable to produce 2D animations, there’s just better programs nowadays, but the artists remain the same. Is just at matter of style. Don’t forget this was produce in 2000 not long ago, lol.
I Rhapsody in Blue and the way it was interpreted in this 2D cartoon! Very nostalgic and heartwarming too!
