Sir Georg Solti conducts the Chicago Symphony in the first movement of the Third Symphony (the “Italian”) by Felix Mendelssohn:
From 1950, Sergiu Celibidache conducts the Berlin Philharmonic in the entire work:
To the extent that this non-blog is about anything, it’s about explaining the things in life that I love. So I confess to some degree of exasperation that I cannot explain why Mendelssohn is one of my favorite composers.
You’ll just have to accept that that I do.
