Renata Scotto in the title role of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca, in Act I with Nicolo Martinucci as Cavaradossi, and singing “Vissi d’arte” in Act II.
Scotto’s Tosca does not seem to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m a convert.
“Vissi d’arte” means “I live for art” — a fitting motto for the heroine of my original screenplay Tabula Rasa, who hears the music in her dreams.
