Kitty Carlisle, 1945, by Maurice Seymour
Kinda sad that most of the obits I read mentioned her years as a game-show panelist ahead of her musical, theater and movie credits.
Here is an amazing clip from her final public performance, just last year. She sings “Alone” from her best-known movie, the Marx Brothers’ A Night At The Opera (by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed, best known for “Singin’ In The Rain”), and “June In January” by Ralph Rainger and Leo Robin, which Bing Crosby sang in Here is My Heart, one of the two movies she made with him. And, she shares anecdotes about Crosby, Harpo Marx and her late husband, playwright Moss Hart.
As you watch and listen, bear in mind that this woman is ninety-five years old.

We lost Tom Poston this week too. In the local paper at least they failed to mention his considerable game show credits.
